Continue reading In the beginning…and the continuation of the Clan Clark!
Peter Ferguson Clark (My Great-Grandfather). Chief of Clan MacKenzie (No. 27) Order of Scottish Clans, Manchester, New Hampshire, and Pipe Major of the Clan MacKenzie Pipe Band. Several of his sons were bagpipers and drummers in the band for many years. And, also, served as Chiefs of the Clan. My Grandfather, John Revie Clark, the eldest, was born in Bridgeton, Scotland, just prior to immigration to the States, in 1910.
Notice of the death of my Great-Uncle Al Clark: The last time that I saw him, was at my Grandfather’s (Pa) funeral. I had just finished piping, near the large boulder, bearing the Clark plaque, and he approached me; standing about an arm’s-length from me, for a moment or two, with tears streaming from his eyes. In a choked-voice he said “your grandfather would have wanted you to have these.” He handed me his and my deceased uncle’s, Robert Clark, Chief’s medals, from the Order of Scottish Clans. He, then, put his arms around me, and held me for several minutes, before turning and walking away. That was the last time that I saw him. My mother sent me this article upon his death.
